horseback riding and riding holidays in the green heart of Tuscany.
Riding and horseback riding in the Monticiano area, a short distance from Siena and the Abbey of St. Galgano
The association, located in Monticiano, near Siena in our beautiful Tuscany, is primarily concerned with horseback riding and all activities around its practice and the management of horses.
We train our students and offer lessons and horseback rides in the surrounding area, to admire nature from the saddle and visit historical monuments such as the Abbey of San Galgano.
We are interested in the study and popularization of training and management techniques for horses, which have as far as possible feedback in scientific literature and are based on observation of the natural model.
Travel and riding holidays in the Green Heart of Tuscany, between Siena and the Maremma.
A crowning achievement of country riding or just the satisfaction of a curiosity, riding holiday is an engaging and unforgettable experience. Dedicated to those who already have some riding experience, they can open up new horizons even for the now disenchanted and bored horseback rider.
Riding out of riding stables and corrals, on roads brushed in the countryside or in the quiet darkness of the woods, away from the sand of competitions, to soak in the song of birds and the roar of clear fords, while splashes of water emanate from strides and flicks of tail.
On horseback we enter the doorway into nature, without knocking and without making a fuss, and if we are quiet who knows we might see an unwary deer, a noisy wild boar, a fox or a marten. We might even see a wolf, spotted with silver, disappear like a ghost in the thick of the impenetrable thickets.
Courses
The horse is our companion; he takes us with him into landscapes hidden from view; he is like a medium between us and the nature around us. That is why knowing him and delving into all aspects inherent in his physiology, his nature, training and care is a fundamental aspect of training the good horsewoman/man, because his mental and physical well-being is our responsibility.
The information we nowadays have easy access to, regarding horseback riding and management, is countless, often unfounded and contradictory, and can leave us stunned and scattered in a complex landscape. Our goal is to provide the right tools to clear the fog and navigate this maze, through appropriate insights, opportunities for improvement and pathways to learning, for all those who have a concrete desire to strive for improvement. Our teachers, too, driven by passion and without prejudice, continually seek to update and try out new methods and theories supported by evidence, which increasingly appear on the horizon, to put them into practice and seek possible integrations and improvements with traditional knowledge and riding practice. All in the beautiful setting of the Tuscan countryside.
perfect horse management has not yet been invented. We try to offer the greatest possible attention to the health and respect for the physiological needs of the horses of our members and card-carrying members. We have decided to rely on the natural model and try to reproduce certain patterns, that have been observed in the feral horse populations of the dry grasslands of North America. Management that seeks to keep baseline inflammatory levels low, to prevent chronicity. These attentions are possible because of the experience of our instructors and their professional training, Martina is a veterinary doctor and Alessio is a guide and a trimmer. This makes it a suitable management for barefoot horses.
